Teeth Whitening Tips
Everybody would like to have white teeth and get rid of those stains and discolorations, but few people know just how easy it is. You can go to a dentist and get a major cleaning done, but first try out these teeth whitening tips. They might save you a lot of time and money on your teeth whitening.
Try The Orange Peel
You may have heard that orange peels can whiten teeth naturally. It’s not just an urban legend. Orange peels contain natural acids which help to clean the enamel of your tooth. These acids are found in the white part on the inside of the peel. Simply rubbing it on your teeth can produce whitening results.
Dried bay leaves, crushed down into a powder, can be added to the orange peel for extra whitening. Another great way is to use strawberries. They also contain natural acids. You can crush a strawberry down to the pulp and rub it along your teeth, or mix it with baking soda and use as a homemade toothpaste.
Brush With Baking Soda
A great way to whiten teeth is to use baking soda. Mix a pinch of the powder with water until it becomes a paste, and then brush just like you would with regular toothpaste. There are lots of variations on this recipe, like putting a few drops of lemon juice on your paste. Some folks recommend also rinsing with hydrogen peroxide afterwards.
These household items are abrasives that work great at getting teeth white. The only trouble is that too much can cause problems. If too many abrasives are used too often, it can strip away the enamel of your teeth. For this reason, you should only do this once a week or less. Also, watch out for any irritation or sensitivity in the teeth and gums. This is a sign that you’re using too much.
Teeth Whitening Strips
If you’d like to try a product that is cheap, easy and guarantees results, try teeth whitening strips. These are simply strips that you apply to the teeth and wear for about 30 minutes. Usually, you are supposed to do it twice a day for a week or ten days. Each brand has slightly different instructions.
People who have tried strips have often gotten the results they wanted without having to do anything more complicated than that. Results vary from person to person, but the result can be just as dramatic as a dental teeth whitening job.
Don’t Forget Regular Dental Care
Orange peels and hydrogen peroxide are all good and fun, but don’t forget to keep up your regular tooth maintenance. This means brushing after every meal and before bed, flossing twice a day, and making appointments with the dentist for regular check-ups and teeth cleaning. We often forget these things and let them slide, but sometimes the reason your smile is turning a dull yellow is just that you’ve forgotten these little things.
A bright, white smile is something most people dream about, but you don’t have to. With a little effort and routine maintenance, anybody can have a wonderful smile. Follow these teeth whitening tips and you’ll see results quick!
